Inspired by her community-centric roots, Rumin founded chit.chaat.chai in 2010 as a pop-up restaurant to share the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda through a community meal. Shortly, after she attended graduate school, at the University of Toronto,  where she received her Masters in Museum Studies. After a few years, in the museum world, she felt a calling to revamp chit.chaat.chai into a digital publication and share Ayurveda’s empowering knowledge on a global platform. Inviting experts in the fields to contribute content and converse about holistic living and wellness through the lens of Ayurveda.
An avid learner, cook, artist and spice lover, she’s experienced the benefits of Ayurveda and Unani Medicine since her days in the womb. In 2009, she decided to formally study Ayurveda at the Kerala Ayurveda Academy.  After completing her certification, she was accepted as a NAMA Professional Member. Since graduating, she continues to study Ayurveda with experts in the field like Vaidya Suhas Kshirsagar, BAMS, MD, Mamta Landerman CAS, Vaidya Vasant Lad, BAMS and Vaidya Jayarajan Kodikannath, BAMS. Deepening & broadening her knowledge to continue to raise awareness of Ayurveda, bring valuable content to chit.chaat.chai and ask insightful questions in her interviews with experts in this vast field. Â
With a passion for cooking, spices, food culture, and prevention based wellness, she strives to create a trusted digital platform, where reputable, certified healers and practitioners, integrative physicians are the ones sharing their expertise. With the hopes to bring greater attention to holistic health, sustainable living, and preventative based practices. Â
She currently serves as an executive board member for CAAM, California Ayurvedic Association of Medicine. Rumin also offers consulting services to businesses seeking to learn more about Ayurveda or product development.Â
